About last week of January, UP School of Economics asked the students to group into five (5) and choose what NGO (Non-governmental organization) or Government units they want to have their internship at NSTP. Our team – which is Team 11 (consist of Daphne Del Mundo, Angeli Garcia, Shaira Pascual, Janis Sumait and Dana Salgado) was chosen to conduct internship at ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. under the Project and Donor Management program.
At first, I thought that having an internship at Project and Donor Management under ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. was hard and we’ll do some charity-related stuff – like repacking of goods and going to a site where we will give donations to the donees. But what we did at the ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. was conducting some interview with the representatives of each departments of the said foundation and we are able to get to know how the process of donation of goods goes from the donors to the foundation, and from the foundation to the donees. We’re also given the privilege to visit the two of the main warehouses of the Lingkod Kapamilya foundation–the Bantay Bata and the Sagip Kapamilya warehouse and to have an immersion of one of the protected areas in Metro Manila – the La Mesa Ecopark.
Up to this moment, I’m still very grateful that I had my internship at the Project and Donor Management of ABS-CBN Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation Inc. because I learned a lot of things – especially the framework of the organization and how it feels like working under a foundation that seeks to provide a better quality of life for every Filipino.
